Ellise works with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, relationship issues, trauma/PTSD as well as drug and alcohol. She uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a goal-oriented psychotherapy treatment that takes a hands-on, practical approach to problem-solving. The goal is to change patterns of thinking or behavior that are behind people's difficulties, and in turn change the way they feel. Ultimately, offering a new perspective on what is contributing to the presenting issues. She will utilize and integrate other modalities to meet the needs of her clients. Such modalities often include Mindfulness, Solution Focused Therapy and Eco-Systemic Structural Family Therapy.
Clients are encouraged to be actively involved in creating a plan to slowly build effective skills, strategies, and confidence. Allowing the individual to feel a sense of control again. Ellise strives to provide a safe and supportive environment where the client can feel understood, encouraged, challenged, as well as educated.
